CANADIAN COAST GUARD ACCREDITED COURSE PROVIDER 


Are you aware of the new boating safety regulations 
that became law on April 1, 1999?

Any person born after April 1, 1983 
NOW requires proof of competency (the card) on board 
to operate a boat fitted with a motor.


Any person operating a boat fitted with a motor and 
less than 4 meters (13 ft.) (including personal watercraft) 
will require proof of competency (the card) on board by September 15, 2002

 

All operators will require a proof of competency (the card) on board by September 15, 2009.

 

AGE AND HORSEPOWER RESTRICTIONS

Under 12 years of age, maximum power of motors is a 10 hp, unless accompanied and directly supervised by a person 16 years or older.


At least 12 years of age but under 16 years of age maximum, power of motor is a 40 hp, unless accompanied and directly supervised by a person 16 years old or older.

There are 3 ways to obtain your card:

1. Completion of full course.

2. Take the Challenge Test

3. Home Study Course and written test.
